home warranty

HMS National is a brand of Cross Country Home Services CCHS, whose warranties are underwritten by HomeSure of America. Making the names a little more complicated, HMS is in the process of rebranding to a new name: Cinch Home Services. This all matters because a company's reputation is linked to its name. Name changes and corporate layers, like in this case, make it hard for consumers to research a company. The Better Business Bureau shows more than 2,300 complaints against HomeSure. Better Business Bureau Among the items we found: The Better Business Bureau BBB received more than 2,300 complaints about HomeSure nationwide in the past three years. That sounds like a lot, but as past Bamboozled columns have shown, it's impossible to tell whether a complaint number is high or low without having the perspective of knowing how much business a company does. We asked CCHS, but a spokeswoman refused to say how many warranties it has. She did say it manages more than one million claims per year. BBB lists 18 alternate business names, including HMS and CCHS, for the company. It's common for a company with that many complaints to receive an low rating from BBB, but BBB didn't rank the company.

Quote came back that it would cost me over $2000, for a new flue, ductwork, etc. I asked how he knew I needed a flue when he never went near the chimney. 4/30 AHS sent another company out. I never heard back from them. 5/16 I called, requested a full refund and then was told I could use my own company and that I would be refunded the $100 I had paid for their service call. 5/21I sent them invoices. I called several times to check on everything, never received a callback. 6/1 I emailed and received an email back that Jacob had the paperwork and I would know by the end of the week and that the refund check can take 14 to 21 days to be sent. Many people tend to think that the only thing they need is a home insurance policy. They don't think about what insurance does and does not cover. Most insurance policies only cover issues relating to damage to the home.

home warranty companies serving texas

I tried but had no response and I wasn't having any work done until I knew exactly what the problem was and the cost. Select said I could have my own vendor do the work, which I did. I applied for my $150 on 03/09/15 and sent back the requested paperwork. When I contacted Select today, they said they did not receive my signed release, so I emailed it to them to 2 different email addresses. I received an email stating my paperwork had been received and it would be 30 days. I responded with why I had to wait another 30 days and the response was they had not received my paperwork. Really?Having been a homeowner for 30 years, this is the worse experienced I have had with a warranty company. Still waiting for an appointmentSo I submitted the claim through the internet. Got a call from Select the next business day asking make and model of the oven. It was on the original online request but I gave it to them again. Request assigned the 13th, I called them the 17th because I had not received a call or email from anyone.
